Talks with NATO not in active phase now, but still a priority – Shmyhal
KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that negotiations with NATO are currently not in active phase due to the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine, however, they are still important.
"Negotiations with NATO are not in active phase today. Of course, due to the war in Ukraine, we cannot actively conduct these negotiations today. Of course, this is important to us… NATO is still on the agenda of Ukraine as an important priority," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
At the same time, the PM emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities are currently moving forward in the matters of security through the signing of international treaties.
Shmyhal noted that the government has not yet received instructions from the president within the preparations for the implementation of the project under the agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine.
