Syrsky: Situation in Bakhmut region is extremely tense
KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The situation in the area of Bakhmut is very tense, the most trained Wagner PMC is trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian troops and surround the city, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.
“The situation in Bakhmut region is extremely tense. Despite significant losses, the enemy launched the most trained Wagner assault detachments into the offensive, trying to break through the defenses of our troops and surround the city,” the Military Media Center said, citing Syrsky.
He also said in the battles for Bakhmut, Ukrainian soldiers show “numerous examples of stamina, courage and heroism.”
