Sweden to announce additional comprehensive package to strengthen Ukraine's resilience soon – PM
KYIV. Aug 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Sweden will soon announce additional comprehensive packages to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has said.
"We need to prevent similar aggression from being repeated elsewhere. Might does not make right… And my government will shortly present additional comprehensive support packages to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience. The stronger Ukraine is, the safer for the rest of us are," Andersson said at the second summit of the Crimea Platform on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has consequences on the global map in the form of an energy and food crisis, for which Russia bears full responsibility.
"Sweden does not and will not recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea or, any future attempts to unlawfully annex the Ukrainian territory. We must continue to stand united in our support for Ukraine now and in the long term," Andersson said.
She stressed the need to ensure that the international community continues the coordinated and principled response to stop Russia’s aggression and hold those responsible accountable.
