Sweden ready to send military contingent to Ukrainian Donbas – media
KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist has announced readiness to send Swedish troops to Ukraine to support the ongoing conflict in Donbas, Sveriges Radio has reported.
"Our solidarity with Ukraine must always be very clear," said Hultqvist.
The Minister of Defense supported the Baltic states’ proposal to conduct an EU-led training mission in Ukraine, which could mean that Sweden will send officers to Ukraine to train the military.
"We see this as an important part of the EU’s desire to contribute to ensuring Ukraine’s sovereignty," Hultqvist stressed.
