Sweden promises to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks, armored vehicles, components for air defense system – Defense Ministry
KYIV. Feb 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Swedish government has announced its readiness to send up to ten Leopard 2 A5 tanks to Ukraine.
“Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and I just announced that Sweden is joining the Leopard 2 tank coalition. Sweden will give up to 10 Leopard 2 A5 main battle tanks to Ukraine. This, with the 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles on the way, will significantly strengthen the armed forces of Ukraine,” Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson said on Twitter on Friday.
Sweden will also donate a substantial amount of HAWK and IRIS-T air defense system components and ammunition, he said.
