Sumykhimprom announces plans to launch workshops from April

KYIV. March 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State-owned PJSC Sumykhimprom has begun a phased restoration after the forced shutdown of the enterprise last year, which lasted almost six months after shells hit the plant and damaged individual facilities.

“We have completed restoration work and overhauls, and already in April, we are launching the basic workshops of the enterprise. The entire technological cycle will start operating,” Executive Director of PJSC Volodymyr Volkov said at a meeting of the Union of Chemists of Ukraine.

According to him, it is planned to fully load the workshops to produce mineral fertilizers, pigments, and sulfuric acid production.

“In April, our facilities will be able to produce 20,000-25,000 tonnes of fertilizers monthly with a gradual increase in volumes up to 35,000 tonnes monthly, about 1,800 tonnes of titanium dioxide and 35,000-40,000 tonnes of sulfuric acid monthly,” the director said.

He said a significant package of orders has been signed for the coming months.

“We must meet the targets to produce more than 200,000 tonnes of complex fertilizers within six months,” Volkov said, noting that its own production allows the company to reduce the risks of imports during the war.

The head of Sumykhimprom said that the fertilizer production program is adjusted to the demand of Ukrainian farmers.

“We will produce the entire conventional range of high-performance granular NPK and NP fertilizers containing all the main nutrients. We can produce fertilizers with specified standard properties closely following the customers’ needs,” Volkov said.
