Sukha Balka mine increases ore production by 2.8% in Jan-Aug
KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Sukha Balka mine (Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region), part of DCH Group of Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, in January-August this year increased production of salable iron ore by 2.8% compared to the same period last year, to 1.787 million tonnes.
As the company told Interfax-Ukraine, in August the mine produced 235,545 tonnes of salable ore.
As reported, Sukha Balka mine in 2020 reduced production of salable iron ore by 6.3% compared to the previous year, to 2.554 million tonnes.
Sukha Balka specializes in underground mining of iron ore. The mine’s capacity is about 3.1 million tonnes of salable ore per year. The mine includes the Yuvileina and Frunze mines. The mine employs about 3,500 people.
