Strong bipartisan support for struggle of Ukrainian people to continue in Congress – Senator Koons
KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Strong bipartisan support for the struggle of the Ukrainian people will continue in Congress, U.S. Senator Chris Coons said.
Koons told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday that he is confident that the strong bipartisan support of the United States for the struggle of the Ukrainian people would continue in Congress. He said that members of both parties are asking questions. Koons said they asked questions today to make sure that the funds that are being spent here on military support, budget support, humanitarian assistance are necessary. They are not spent in vain, he said, and assured that they would continue to support the Ukrainian people.
He expressed confidence that, at least in the Senate, strong and bipartisan support for providing assistance to Ukraine will continue.
The United States has long been a nation that fights for freedom, and this is the most important fight for freedom in the world today, he said, expressing confidence that regardless of the outcome of the midterm elections, at least in the Senate, strong and bipartisan support for providing assistance to Ukraine will continue.
