KYIV. Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that it is "even more important" for the world to have Finland and Sweden join NATO, and also called for increased support for Ukraine, the NATO said on its website.
"I am confident that ‘we will soon be able to warmly welcome’ Sweden and Finland into the Alliance," Stoltenberg said on the sidelines of the Folk och Försvar security conference in Selena, Sweden.
He also called for increased support to Ukraine and warned that underestimating Russia could have "major consequences for security in the Nordic region."
