Stefanishyna to hold number of meetings with NATO officials in Brussels
KYIV. Jan 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Thursday, January 20, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna will pay a working visit to Brussels, where she will meet with NATO officials.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office on Facebook, there have been scheduled a number of meetings with senior NATO officials and NATO Permanent Representatives, in particular with: NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană; NATO Assistant Secretary-General for Operations Thomas Goffus; NATO Assistant Secretary-General for Defense Policy and Planning Patrick Turner.
“The issues to be discussed: security situation in and around Ukraine; coordination of Allies’ efforts to counter Russian aggression and to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities; establishment of national resilience system in Ukraine,” the office said in the statement.
In addition, it is planned to discuss preparations for the NATO Summit in Madrid and partners’ involvement in the drafting of the NATO Strategic Concept, as well as NATO support of the reforms in the security and defense sector, implementation of the Annual National Program.
