Stefanchuk urges Holos to find compromise within their faction

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk called on members of the Holos faction and representatives of the Spravedlyvist association, who are also members of this faction, to find mutual understanding and a compromise for work in the Ukrainian parliament.

"To our great regret, the situation that has developed in one of the factions [Holos], it is far from a compromise between the stay of colleagues in this faction. We understand that these are your personal internal affairs, and we, as the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, as leaders of others factions, cannot interfere. And I really want you to find mutual understanding. For more than a month now I have been holding constant negotiations with you and I urge you to such a compromise," Stefanchuk said at a meeting of the conciliatory council of the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups on Monday, November 15.

At the same time, he gave the floor to both head of the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak, and head of the Spravedlyvist association, Oleksandra Ustinova.

As reported, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk at a plenary session on October 22 announced the termination of the powers of MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak as head of the Holos faction at the request of 11 out of 20 members in connection with the receipt of a letter addressed to the speaker.

In turn, the political forces said that the attempts of some members of the Holos faction to remove MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak from the post of its chairman have no legal force.
