KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk plans to invite speakers from Canada, G7 and G20 countries to take part in the Crimea Platform summit.
"Together with the speaker of the Croatian Council, I will send invitations to our colleagues-speakers of the parliaments of the world who support Ukraine, to participate in this platform. Today [on August 17] I will already have talks with the speaker of Canada, and I will personally invite him to take part. I will also hold separate talks with the speakers of the G7 and G20 countries so that they also join the Crimea Platform," the speaker said in a comment to Interfax–Ukraine on Wednesday.
Stefanchuk stressed that it is necessary to create a powerful parliamentary front to support Ukraine, including in terms of the return of Crimea to Ukraine.
As reported, the parliamentary part of the Crimea Platform summit will be held in Zagreb (Croatia) on October 24, and at the presidential level it will be held online on August 23.
