Stefanchuk on talks between Biden, Putin: I want message that Ukraine is zone of Ukrainian interests to become dominant
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk is convinced that the message that Ukraine is a zone of Ukrainian interests should dominate during a conversation between U.S. President Joseph Biden and President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s on Tuesday.
"Ukraine is a zone of Ukrainian interests. I really want this message to be dominant in negotiations between two presidents of large states. And only on this basis, we must form the concept of our coexistence in the global space. And this is the number one thesis that I want to be reported," the speaker said at a briefing on Tuesday.
At the same time, he said that it should also be important to understand that "Ukraine is not alone, that is, our state not only becomes a subject in the international space, but can also receive support and assistance from other countries that share the values of democracy, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of countries and non-interference in the modern world order."
At the same time, he believes that the success of these negotiations not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe as a whole will be that "the second side, the Russian Federation, will hear the first side, the U.S."
In addition, Stefanchuk said that it is important for Ukraine to form its agenda based on the results of the negotiations between Biden and Putin, and, if necessary, make any decisions in this regard.
