Stefanchuk calls on Polish Sejm to recognize Russia as terrorist state

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk called on the Polish Sejm to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and adopt a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist state.

"Today, the words of ‘russia’ and ‘terrorism’ have already become synonymous for the whole world. And now we need to make efforts so that the words ‘russia’ and ‘genocide’ become synonyms — this is what Russia is doing in Ukraine now in relation to the Ukrainian people," Stefanchuk said at a meeting with Marshal of the Polish Sejm Elżbieta Witek in Warsaw on Thursday.

According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada office, Stefanchuk, on behalf of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, presented the state award – the Order of Merit of the II degree — to Vice Marshal of the Seimas Ryszard Terlecki "for a significant personal contribution to strengthening the international authority of Ukraine, the development of interstate cooperation."

"Poland’s contribution to the approach of our victory is an example of fraternal interstate relations. And the strategic partnership with the Republic of Poland remains a constant priority of Ukraine," Stefanchuk summed up.

Stefanchuk is on a working visit to Warsaw.
