Stefanchuk asks US senators to strengthen legislative support for Ukraine on security

KYIV. Jan 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has appealed to U.S. senators with a request to legislatively strengthen support for Ukraine in the field of security.

“Today I have sent letters to senators. I thanked them for the bipartisan support that our country enjoys in the U.S. Congress, emphasized the importance of the laws already adopted to support Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. I asked the Congress to strengthen support for Ukraine in the field of security, including the provision of anti-aircraft, anti-ship and anti-tank weapons in the future legislative activity of the Congress,” Stefanchuk wrote on Facebook on Friday.

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, in his letter he drew attention to the need to stop the implementation of Nord Stream 2, as a source of security threats to Ukraine and Europe, by imposing sanctions against Gazprom’s subsidiary Nord Stream 2 AG.
