KYIV. Jan 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk asks the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denнs Monastyrsky to provide official information on the events and consequences of the protest rally of individual entrepreneurs representatives under parliament house on Tuesday.
“According to the information I have now, all the people who were detained yesterday, have been released. The incident that took place did not lead to tragic consequences. But still, I ask the Minister of Internal Affairs to somehow cover this issue, so that there is official information,” Stefanchuk said at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Stefanchuk responded to a speech by MP Vadym Ivchenko (Batkivschyna faction) that the protest ended with “dozens of people beaten and 74 people detained.”
“Two women with broken limbs were put in casts, two demonstrators went missing and one was beaten so badly that it is unclear today whether he survived or not,” Ivchenko said.
