State Special Communications Service plans to complete process of creating secure telecom network for govt agencies in 2022

KYIV. Oct 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine expects to complete the process of creating a National Telecommunication Network for government agencies within a year.

The issue of the security of state authorities is one of the problems that the State Service for Special Communications is currently solving by organizational means, head of the State Service for Special Communications Yuriy Schyhol said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

"We have secure access nodes through which all government bodies are obliged to work. At the same time, last year, a national communication network was built and put into commercial operation, which is under the operational management of the State Service for Special Communications. However, it was only this year that regulatory documents were adopted that oblige all bodies to join it," he said.

As of the end of October 2021, more than 90 objects have already been connected to this system.

"The next stage is to connect all regions to the network. We plan to complete the creation of this system in the coming year. At the same time, work will be underway to create a National Data Backup Center. This will be another stage in ensuring the protection of state registers and access to them," Schyhol stressed.
