State Food Service provides phytosanitary control over 268,000 tonnes of agricultural products exported from Ukrainian ports

KYIV. Aug 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State inspectors of the Main Department of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Odesa region, since the launch of the Istanbul grain agreements, have carried out the necessary phytosanitary procedures for eight grain carriers with 268,000 tonnes of plant products on board.

On the basis of phytosanitary measures, 223,000 tonnes of corn were exported from Ukraine to Algeria, Lebanon, Turkey, Ireland, Iran, and the UK, as well as 45,000 tonnes of sunflower meal to China, according to a statement on the service’s website on Thursday.

It is specified that the inspectors of the state service examined the following grain carriers leaving the seaports of Pivdenny, Chornomorsk and Odesa for compliance with the phytosanitary requirements of Ukraine’s partner countries – Glory, Riva Wind, Razoni, Navi Star, Rojen, Polarnet, Arizona and Star Helena.

The service clarified that currently in the ports of Odesa region there are vessels waiting for the loading of 434,000 tonnes of crops.
