State budget-2022 provides over UAH 6 bln for Ministry of Veterans Affairs
KYIV. Dec 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The state budget of Ukraine for 2022 provides for more than UAH 6 billion in funding from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
"The Verkhovna Rada adopted at the second reading and in general the draft law On the state budget of Ukraine for 2022 (No. 6000), which provides for unprecedented financing of veteran policy in Ukraine. The budget of the Ministry of Veterans has increased six times and for the first time in history will amount to UAH 6,018,895,100," the press service of the Ministry of Veterans said.
It is noted that UAH 5.5 billion is provided for the provision of housing for war veterans, families of the deceased who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"The size of the pledged funds will ensure the fulfillment of state obligations to 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers, including those who defended Ukraine and who were left homeless as a result of the armed Russian aggression," the ministry said.
Funds have also been allocated for the functioning of the Ukrainian Veteran Fund, which will start operating in January 2022.
In addition, the state budget-2022 provides for financing next year measures for psychological rehabilitation, social and professional adaptation, provision of sanatorium treatment for injured participants in the Revolution of Dignity, ATO participants and their families, families of deceased soldiers, support of public associations of veterans.
As reported, on December 2, the Verkhovna Rada supported at the second reading and in general the state budget for 2022 with a deficit of 3.5% of GDP, 268 MPs voted in favor with the required 226 votes.
