StarLightMedia estimates its investment in social ad at $15 mln annually

KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – StarLightMedia, the largest media group, according to its estimates, in the Ukrainian market, annually invests about $15 million in corporate social responsibility (CSR), showing social advertising on its channels, Oleksandr Bohutsky, CEO of StarLightMedia, said.

"We are the leaders in social advertising," he said at the seventh Conductors of Change Forum held in Kyiv by Deloitte.

As another example of CSR, Bohutsky named the allocation of about $500,000 for the New Leaders project by channel’s beneficiary Viktor Pinchuk in a desire to accelerate the change of political elites, the third season of which was suspended in March 2020 due to COVID-19.

StarLightMedia CEO also spoke for a more active position of the state in terms of introducing new standards in the field of healthcare, social and gender development. In particular, he welcomed the introduction of gender quotas in party elections and the decision on mandatory vaccination of teachers, doctors and a number of other categories of workers.

According to the information on the group’s website, it, in particular, invested in vaccination advertising, and as part of a comprehensive immunization program for employees (along with relatives), 81% of StarLightMedia employees were vaccinated.

StarLightMedia includes seven channels: STB, ICTV, ICTV Ukraine, Novy channel, M1, M2, OCE TV, as well as StarLight Production, the equipment rental company StarLight Rental and the stage decoration producer StarLight Scenery.

According to the information on the website, its share in the audience aged 18-54 in cities with a population of over 50,000 was 26.1% over eight months of 2021, some 46% ahead of the closest competitor. And the company indicates its share in the advertising market at about 33%.
