St. Petersburg mandates vaccination for pensioners and chronically ill
ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 9 (Interfax) – The chief state physician of St. Petersburg, Natalya Bashketova, on Tuesday signed amendments to a resolution, which sets out which categories of citizens must be vaccinated against Covid-19, to include residents aged over 60 and those with chronic illnesses.
"To supplement clause 1 with the following sub-clause 1.3: persons aged 60 and older, persons with chronic illnesses, including the diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, cardiovascular system, the endocrine system (diabetes, obesity)," the amendments to Resolution No. 3 "On the immunization of certain groups of citizens in St. Petersburg against the novel coronavirus disease on epidemic instructions," dated October 12, 2021, said.
According to data released by the operative headquarters earlier on Tuesday, St. Petersburg has the second highest number of daily deaths, at 88, after Moscow and the third highest number of daily infections, at 2,680, after Moscow and the Moscow region.
