Spokesperson for AFU Air Force Command on detonation of ammunition near Dzhankoi: Enemy does not know how to use fire safety equipment
KYIV. Aug 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A violation of fire safety led to the detonation of ammunition near Dzhankoi in the occupied Crimea, Spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Yuriy Ihnat believes.
"There is nothing to add here, except for what has already been voiced… Surely, the enemy does not know how to use any fire safety equipment. Dzhankoi is another military airfield where the enemy has concentrated… helicopters… other equipment," Ihnat said at an online briefing at Ukraine media center (Kyiv) on Tuesday.
According to him, judging by the video that appeared on social networks, the detonation of ammunition, missiles that explode and scatter in different directions, can destroy equipment and flight personnel.
He said that last week a similar thing happened at the Saki military airfield in the occupied Crimea.
"In addition to the ten more planes that burned down there, there probably exists and not a small number of officials – these are both pilots and engineering staff. Therefore, if Russia can pull up planes, then the problem is obviously with specialists who are not one day they cook, they will still have it," Ihnat said.
