Spain hands over air defense battery, armored vehicles, ammunition to Ukraine – media
KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Spanish side, under military assistance in the amount of EUR 2.5 million, transferred to Ukraine an air defense battery, armored vehicles, ammunition and fuel, El Pais said, citing the Spanish Ministry of Defense.
"Among the materials sent by the Ministry of Defense, there are about 20 armored vehicles, 75 pallets with field artillery and a full air defense battery, as well as 1,000 tonnes of diesel fuel worth about EUR 2.5 million. Both armored vehicles and ammunition are already at the disposal of the Ukrainian authorities," according to an article by El Pais, published on Thursday.
In addition to weapons, a batch of 30,000 winter uniforms, 15,600 jackets, 15,000 outdoor suits and several thousand additional items of clothing has been prepared "upon an urgent request." Shipment is scheduled for September 2022.
"This is a firm commitment that has been developing since the beginning of this war. All this time, our country has not stopped sending materials for the legitimate protection of the Ukrainian people," the Spanish Defense Ministry said in the statement.
