Some EUR 1.5 bln of military aid to Ukraine collected at conference in Copenhagen
KYIV. Aug 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At a conference in Copenhagen on Thursday, August 11, some 26 countries agreed on the allocation of EUR 1.5 billion of military assistance to Ukraine, the Danish Ministry of Defence reports.
"Some EUR 1.5 billion announced at the CopenhagenUkraine today. Some 26 countries have agreed to support the continued military assistance to Ukraine. Their fight is our fight" the ministry said on Twitter.
"The defence ministers and representatives of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Denmark and key allies and partners met today in Copenhagen to discuss how to enhance and sustain longer-term military support to Ukraine in light of Russia’s continued brutal and unprovoked attack on Ukraine," the ministry said on its website.
The conference participants also agreed to meet again virtually in September to ensure further progress.
The conference complements cooperation within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which was established earlier this year at the US Ramstein base in Germany with the participation of defence ministers from around the world.
