Some 82% of Ukrainians notice improvement in road conditions over current year – Rating opinion poll
KYIV. Sept 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians (82%) have noticed an improvement in the condition of roads and an increase in their repair over the past year, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Sociological Group Rating on September 10-13.
Some 64% are satisfied with the activities of Ukravtodor in Ukraine, while 29% are of the opposite opinion. Among the areas of infrastructure, where modernization has been taking place recently, Ukrainians have a better assessment of the state of the roads.
At the same time, roads (50%) and railways (42%) are infrastructure sectors that, according to the respondents, need the most support from the state. Some 18% consider postal services and tourism to be such industries, 13% – river ports, and 9% – airports.
Some 32% of respondents traveled to Ukraine for tourism purposes. The most popular travel destinations are the Carpathians (55%) and seaside resorts in the south of the country (48%), 37% traveled to natural attractions, 26% to interesting cities of Ukraine, and 17% to places of historical events and battles.
According to the survey, 77% of car owners are ready to use toll highways if they are of high quality, safe and have a speed limit of 130 km/h.
The CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interview) survey, based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers was used. Some 3,000 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed in all government-controlled regions. The sample is representative in terms of age, sex and type of settlement. The error of representativeness of the study with a confidence level of 0.95: no more than 1.8%.
