Some 46 generators arrive in Ukraine from Association of French Municipalities
KYIV. Jan 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As part of the joint Ukrainian-French initiative Light in Winter, 23 communities in nine regions of Ukraine will receive two 5 kW generators, the ANTS National Interest Advocacy Network said in a press release on Friday.
To implement this task, at the end of November, ANTS activists, together with the French public organization Stand with Ukraine, turned to the French Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions with a request to help purchase generators for Ukrainian communities.
The first generators arrived in the country on December 19, 2022: eight communities received generators with a capacity of 9 kW.
Currently, another 46 generators have been delivered to Ukraine.
In addition, in the near future, ANTS will deliver another 400 generators to other communities with which it works within the framework of the Restoration of Communities project, which is 30 communities from 10 regions. All of them were either under occupation or suffered from enemy shelling.
The Strengthening Communities for the Victory and Revival of Ukraine project is implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
