Some 374 children killed, 723 injured amid Russia’s aggression in Ukraine – PGO
KYIV. Aug 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of the morning of August 23, 2022, as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, 1,097 children were injured, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) reports.
"According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 374 children were killed and more than 723 received injuries of varying severity. These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in the places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the most children were affected in Donetsk region – 388, Kharkiv – 202, Kyiv – 116, Chernihiv – 68, Mykolaiv – 65, Luhansk – 61, Kherson – 55, Zaporizhia – 41.
In a medical institution in Lviv, a 15-year-old girl died from severe injuries that she received on August 4 as a result of enemy shelling of Toretsk.
As a result of bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 2,328 educational institutions were damaged. Of these, 289 were completely destroyed.
