Some 362 children killed, 716 injured as result of Russia’s armed aggression in Ukraine

KYIV. Aug 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of the morning of August 19, 2022, more than 1,078 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation: according to official information of juvenile prosecutors, 362 children were killed and more than 716 received injuries of varying severity, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) reports.

These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in the places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

"The most children were affected in Donetsk region – 376, Kharkiv – 202, Kyiv – 116, Chernihiv – 68, Luhansk – 61, Mykolaiv – 60, Kherson – 55, and Zaporizhia – 40," the message says.

It became known that on August 17, as a result of an enemy shell hitting a residential building in Kharkiv, a 13-year-old boy was killed, and two other children aged 12 and 13 were injured.

Due to the bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 2,328 educational institutions were damaged. Of these, 289 were completely destroyed.
