Some 17 people missing, 12 bodies, body fragments unidentified yet in Dnipro – local authorities
KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Twelve bodies and body fragments, found in a multi-apartment building devastated by a Russian missile on January 14, remain unidentified as of January 18, Adviser to Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Natalia Babchenko said.
"The rescue operation was completed yesterday. At the moment, the Russian missile took 45 lives. Twelve bodies and body fragments are yet to be identified. Only three people were identified in the past 24 hours. Seventeen people are missing – of course, they may be among those who have not been identified yet," she said on the air of the national telethon on Wednesday.
The number of injured people has increased to 80 – last night an 80-year-old woman sought medical air. Twenty-five people, including three children, remain hospitalized, Babchenko said.
"According to the latest updates, three children were orphaned – these are the brother and sister who are hospitalized. They have a grandmother and an uncle, who are formalizing custody over the children. One more girl, 4, was with her grandmother at the moment of the explosion, and the grandmother is formalizing custody," she said.
Around 400 people were deprived of their housing as a result of the Russian missile attack.
