Social Policy Ministry advocates increase of childbirth assistance to UAH 50,000
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebna is in favor of increasing childbirth assistance to UAH 50,000.
"We want that next year the assistance for childbirth was increased. This assistance has not been indexed for several years, it is fixed," she said at the all-Ukrainian forum Ukraine 30. Children’s Summit on Tuesday in Kyiv.
According to her, the Ministry of Social Policy asks the Verkhovna Rada to increase assistance with childbirth up to UAH 50,000.
At the moment, assistance with the birth of a child is UAH 41,280. The payment of the allowance is carried out in a lump sum in the amount of UAH 10 320, the rest of the allowance is paid over the next 36 months in equal installments (UAH 860 per month).
