SMNPO-Engineering to ship compressor rotor for Gazli compressor station in Uzbekistan
KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Sumy-based MNPO-Engineering has manufactured an eight-wheel compressor rotor as part of the renovation of a 25 MW centrifugal compressor unit supplied by the enterprise for the Gazli station (Uzbekistan) in 2009.
According to a message on the company’s website, the rotor is currently being prepared for shipment.
"In the equipment it was necessary to take into account the wishes of the customer for special technical parameters and to complete everything in a short time," the message says.
The press service of SMNPO-Engineering reminds that an innovative compressor with two sections in one housing was used in the centrifugal compressor unit supplied in 2009, which provided a total gas compression ratio of 9.3.
This allowed the station to operate in two modes: summer mode (with one compressor section) – provides gas transit, while performing the functions of a linear compressor station, and winter one (two compressor sections) – pumps out fuel from underground storage facilities and supplies it to the main gas pipeline.
"The commissioning of the Gazli compressor station allowed Uzbekistan to increase the volume of gas exports and stabilize its supply to consumers in winter. The ordered eight-wheeled rotor will ensure further operation of the station in winter mode," the message says.
SMNPO-Engineering is one of the largest machine-building complexes in Europe for the production of equipment for the oil, gas, nuclear and chemical industries.
In 2020, the company saw UAH 891.82 million in net income and UAH 52.32 million in net profit. Uzbekistan is one of the priority markets for the company’s products.
