Slovakia to give Ukraine 30 infantry fighting vehicles – Čaputová

KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Slovakia will give Ukraine 30 infantry fighting vehicles, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová has said.

At the second summit of Crimea Platform on August 23 Čaputová said Slovakia together with partners in the EU, NATO, will not stop, and will continue to provide Ukraine with political and humanitarian assistance, as well as economic and military support, in particular, it is transferring 30 infantry fighting vehicles.

Estonian President Alar Karis called for the need to increase the cost of the war for Russia.

He also said that in order to achieve peace in Europe, it is necessary to ensure fair justice and spoke in favor of creating a special international court.

The Estonian president said everyone who is related to the crimes in Ukraine must answer.

In turn, Latvian President Egils Levits expressed confidence that Russia would lose the war, but for this it is necessary to continue to provide Ukraine with assistance, including military assistance.

Levits is also convinced that Crimea will be liberated very soon.

According to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed and is now using as a springboard for committing war crimes in Ukraine, should be returned to Ukraine.

Nausėda said that activists and the Crimean Tatar population are suffering under Russian occupation, and as a result, Crimea must become the place where this war will end, where further attacks against the Ukrainian people will stop. Crimea must return to Ukraine, to which it belongs, and everyone who was detained during occupation of Crimea will be released, otherwise no one will be able to guarantee security, he said.

The president said Russia brings only death and destruction and called for strengthening sanctions against Russia and abandoning Russian energy resources, as Lithuania did.

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö said Finland would help Ukraine as much as needed.

Niinistö said Finnish political, economic, military and humanitarian support for Ukraine has been powerful. This support will remain as long as necessary.

He called on Russia to stop hostilities immediately and unconditionally.

The President of Finland said they call on Russia to withdraw all troops and military equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine, including the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula.
