Slovak Parliament recognes Russia as sponsor of terrorism

KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Slovak Parliament has recognized the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism.

“By its resolution, the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic has defined the current Russian regime as terrorist, and Russia as a state supporting terrorism,” the website of the Slovak Parliament reported on Thursday.

The deputies also condemned direct and indirect threats from Russia to use nuclear weapons.

The resolution notes that the National Assembly does not recognize the results of referendums in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine, which the Russian Federation held in the occupied territories, and considers these territories Ukrainian. The Parliament also supported efforts to establish a special tribunal for the aggression of the Russian Federation and the prosecution of crimes against humanity and war crimes of the Russian army.

At the same time, the National Assembly condemned the hybrid war that Russia is waging on the territory of Slovakia, and called on law enforcement agencies, special services and other competent authorities of their country not to underestimate the threat, but to take effective measures against it to preserve security and democracy in Slovakia.
