Since Feb 24, almost 3.5 mln IDPs registered in Ukraine, total number is 4.8 mln people – Shmyhal
KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that almost 3.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been registered in Ukraine since February 24, and the total number of registered IDPs is 4.8 million people.
"Since February 24, almost 3.5 million internally displaced persons have been registered in Ukraine. The total number of IDPs registered in Ukraine is 4.8 million," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
The Prime Minister stressed that this figure is comparable with the population of several large regional centers.
"Our duty is to take care of these people, provide them with food, housing, and work," he said.
