Since beginning of year, NHSU pays over UAH 11 bln to COVID hospitals – Liashko
KYIV. Nov 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the year, the National Health Service of Ukraine has paid more than UAH 11 billion to hospitals for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, Health Minister Viktor Liashko said at a briefing on Thursday, November 18.
He also reported that on the eve of Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers increased the tariff for the COVID-19 treatment package in the hospital to UAH 634,330.
"From November 1, 2021, the NHSU will pay UAH 634,330 for one team that provides assistance to in hospital patients with COVID-19. The tariff increased by UAH 56,600. This is the second increase in the tariff, in October the tariff increased by UAH 23,000," he said.
Liashko said that the need to increase the tariff arose, in particular, due to an increase in oxygen consumption by patients by five times and an increase in the number of patients in intensive care units.
