Shuliak plans to create disciplinary commission in Servant of People party

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The newly elected head of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shuliak, plans to create a new supreme body in the political council – a disciplinary commission, the press service of the political force reports.

In her speech at the XIII congress of "Servants of the People" on November 15, Shuliak proposed to restart the political council of the party, to make a body of day-to-day operational management – the presidium of the political council of the party, and also to create a Disciplinary Commission in the party.

At the same time, after consultations with members of the political council and the national council, she also announced the preparation of a new version of the party’s program. "Taking into account the legislative initiatives that we must implement before the parliamentary elections – so that we clearly know with what and how we are going to the voters," Shuliak said.

According to her, each regional organization should work as a single team for a common result for the party.

As head of the political force, Shuliak plans to create new formats of interaction between the party and the faction in the Verkhovna Rada and local councils.

In addition, she is convinced that the party should become more demanding of the work of the Servant of the People parliamentary factions at all levels of government and should monitor the fulfillment of election promises, the president’s course and the party’s program.

Shuliak proposed to adopt during the congress appeals to the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada with demands to urgently develop, submit to the parliament for consideration in the session hall and vote with the full membership of the parliamentary faction bills: on the introduction of compulsory pension insurance; on the introduction of the most severe punishments for corruption and embezzlement in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense; on improving the material support of educators; on the management of household waste and the promotion of the construction of waste processing plants; on the introduction of the inevitability of punishment for police officers, prosecutors and the SBI for office abuse.

"This is not an exhaustive list and not our last demand for the faction. This is just the beginning. The party will continue to keep its finger on the pulse of the legislative process further," newly appointed head of the party said.

As reported, deputy chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party Olena Shuliak headed the Servant of the People party. This decision was made by the party congress on November 15. Shuliak’s candidacy was the only one for this post.
