Shmyhal: We’re writing history that future generations will admire
KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that Ukraine has been fighting for its independence for centuries, and continues to defend it now in a full-scale war unleashed by Russia.
"Today’s date marks not only the 31st anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine’s Independence, but also exactly six months of the heroic struggle of the Ukrainian people against the ruscist invaders. Ukraine has been fighting for its independence for centuries, and continues to defend it now in a full-scale war unleashed by Russia," Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel on the occasion of Independence Day.
The Prime Minister noted that today Ukrainians feel more proud of our state than ever, and Ukraine has become synonymous with bravery.
"It is we who are writing a story that future generations will admire. Our faith in victory is strong and unshakable. The 31st year is just the beginning. A new beginning for each of us, in order to restore a country worthy of our children and grandchildren after the victory," he stressed.
