Shmyhal, US Assistant Secretary of State Pyatt discuss Ukraine's energy system restoration

KYIV. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Geoffrey Pyatt the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system.

"Allied support is unshakable, despite the terrorist shelling of Russia. While the enemy was trying to destroy the energy system of Ukraine, I discussed with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Geoffrey Pyatt how to restore it. Not just repair, but build according to the Build back better principle," Shmyhal said in Telegaram channel.

The prime minister thanked the U.S. Administration for allocating $53 million to support the purchase of equipment for Ukraine’s electric grids.

"The first batch of this equipment has already been sent these days," he said.
