Shmyhal thanks Ambassador of Japan for strengthening friendship between countries
KYIV. Sept 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal thanked Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Takashi Kurai, who is completing his diplomatic mission, for his personal efforts aimed at strengthening friendly relations and enhancing cooperation between the countries, the government’s press service said on Thursday.
"Our active interaction has provided an important impetus for the further all-round development of relations between the two countries," Shmyhal said.
The prime minister also expressed gratitude to Japan for participating in the inaugural summit of Crimea Platform and for joining the Declaration of its participants.
"We appreciate the financial and humanitarian assistance of the Japanese government, as well as the efforts aimed at supporting democratic reforms in our state, restoring the eastern regions affected by the Russian armed aggression and supporting internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," Shmyhal said.
In turn, the ambassador said that Japan continues to actively support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
