Shmyhal proposes Polish PM to start regular meetings of Lublin Triangle FMs

KYIV. Sept 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has proposed to Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki to hold regular meetings of the heads of government of the countries of the Lublin Triangle – Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania – to intensify cooperation.

"Poland has become one of the first countries with which we signed at the level of heads of state a Joint Declaration on the European Perspective of Ukraine. The participation of the President of Poland in the founding summit of the Crimea Platform was also extremely important for us," the press service of the government quoted Shmyhal as saying.

Among other things, Shmyhal proposed to Morawiecki to start regular meetings of the heads of government of the Lublin Triangle in order to intensify cooperation in various fields in this trilateral format.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine also confirmed the country’s readiness to become an integral part of the Three Seas Initiative, which today unites the EU countries.

"The member countries of the initiative have repeatedly stressed the prospects for such cooperation. And I believe that this format will help Ukraine bring our economies closer together," the head of the Ukrainian government stressed.
