Shmyhal: Govt allocates UAH 1.13 trln during war to finance army, security sector
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the war, the Government of Ukraine allocated UAH 1.130 trillion to finance the army and the security sector, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"For our government, financing the army and the country’s security has been, is and will be the main priority. Now we are directing most of all budgetary resources to this area. Absolutely all the taxes that citizens and businesses now pay to the budget are directed to our military," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
According to him, UAH 770 billion has been allocated for the salaries of everyone who is now defending Ukraine. "We have allocated UAH 176.2 billion for the purchase, repair and modernization of equipment and weapons, which is more than over the past ten years combined," Shmyhal said.
