Shmyhal considers decision of UK Supreme Court on eurobonds important victory for Ukraine over Russia on intl front
KYIV. March 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal considers the decision of the UK Supreme Court on eurobonds an important victory for Ukraine over Russia on the international front.
“Ukraine’s victory over Russia on the international front is important. The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom sent the case on the $3 billion eurobonds, which was initiated by the Russian Federation against our state, to be considered in a full open trial at an English court,” Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to the prime minister, the court recognized the strong position of the defense of Ukraine regarding coercion and threats of Russia to use force, which the Russian Federation carried out back in 2013 to force Ukraine to issue these eurobonds.
“Now the Kremlin will have to disclose all information about the actions against Ukraine in an open trial. Justice will definitely prevail. Russia will definitely be held accountable for all its illegal actions and crimes,” he concluded.
As reported, on March 15, the UK Supreme Court ruled in a case on the recovery of Ukraine’s debt on notes with a nominal value of $3 billion, which was denied to a company representing the interests of Russia in making a judgment in summary proceedings, the court said on Twitter on Wednesday.
