KYIV. May 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announces that the second tranche of European Union macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 600 million will be provided in May, and also allowed the opening of the next macrofinance program in June.

"The European Union, the European Commission was one of the first institutions that immediately reacted and provided macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. Now we are talking about providing the second tranche literally in May, and possibly opening a new tranche of support for Ukraine in June," Shmyhal said at a briefing following the results of his working visit to Poland.

As reported, on May 2, a senior European Commission official told Interfax-Ukraine that the second tranche of EU macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 600 million would be paid "very soon" in May.
