Seven vessels carrying Ukrainian food exports to Turkey, Egypt and Israel
NEW YORK, UN. Oct 11 (Interfax) – Seven vessels carrying nearly 56,000 tonnes of foodstuffs left Ukrainian ports on Monday after receiving permission from the Joint Coordination Center (JCC).
"The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) reports that seven vessels left Ukrainian ports today carrying a total of 55,750 metric tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the center said.
Among them, five are bound for Turkey – the Basel Athena (19,000 tonnes of wheat), the Taj (10,500 tonnes of corn), the Islander A (7,200 tonnes of wheat), the Blue Shark (3,400 tonnes of soybeans), and the Jaguar (2,500 tonnes of foodstuffs).
The Mehmet Bey is carrying 7,600 tonnes of soybeans to Egypt, and the Ekmen Trans is heading to Israel with 5,500 tonnes of rapeseed meal on board.
"Grains that reach a destination may go through processing and be transshipped to other countries," the JCC said.
"As of October 10, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 6,868,748 metric tonnes. A total of 629 voyages (320 inbound and 309 outbound) have been enabled so far," it said.
