Servant of People, For Future say Opposition Platform – For Life trying to regain power in Donetsk region by force
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Servant of the People and For the Future political parties announced the use of force against their deputies in Donetsk region by representatives of Opposition Platform – For Life.
"On November 26, during the 14th regular session of the Selidovsky city council […] representatives of the Opposition Platform – For Life political party [this is about MP Volodymyr Moroz and his assistants] physically dispersed the session, did not allow the deputies of the local merged territorial community to fulfill their parliamentary powers, did everything to demonstrate that the law of force, and not the law of law, operates for them […]. At the meeting, Artur Sukov’s jaw was broken, who is a deputy of the local merged territorial community from For the Future and also had a broken arm deputy from Servant of the People Tetiana Mukhametvlieva," MP, head of For the Future party in Donetsk region Dmytro Lubinets said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
He said that in this way, Opposition Platform – For Life decided to "apply destabilization in these territories, having seen that they could not win in local elections."
In turn, MP, head of the regional organization of the Servant of the People party in Donetsk region Vladlen Nekliudov said that immediately after the incident he prepared an appeal addressed to Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky regarding the incident, in which he urges "to ensure a complete and impartial examination of all the facts of the case".
Lubinets also said "there is an investigation of these facts: both an examination and a legal assessment of all points will be provided by law enforcement agencies, and the verdict, again, will be established in court."
According to the information released in the media, the reason for the conflict was the voting at the session of Selidovsky City Council for a draft decision on the refusal to extend Donetsk Regional Organization of People with Disabilities the term of the lease of communal property.
At the press conference, Sukov said the organization of people with disabilities was offered a room for receiving citizens in Selidovsky City Council, so that "disabled people do not go to the edge of the city, because that room is very far from the center."
