SBU reveals several channels for escape of draft dodgers abroad: in Kyiv, Odesa regions, and via Moldova
KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has eliminated new channels for the escape of draft dodgers abroad: in Kyiv region with the participation of the district council members, in Odesa region with the involvement of an international group, and through Moldova.
As the SBU reports on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, thanks to the SBU prompt response, the escape abroad of more than a hundred draft dodgers was prevented.
"The organizers of illegal traffic offered potential conscripts to leave Ukraine under the guise of volunteers or try to bypass checkpoints. The cost of such services ranged from $4,000. The amount depends on the region of residence and the urgency of the departure," the message says.
As SBU operatives found out, in Kyiv region, a local resident "registered" her clients as representatives of a local charitable organization. Then she entered false information into the Shliakh system. To do this, she used her own connections, including among representatives of the deputy corps of one of the district councils of Kyiv region.
The organizer of the criminal scheme was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.
Another scheme of illegal migration has been eliminated in Odesa region. An international criminal group is involved in its organization, the SBU reports. The offenders secretly transported people of military age to the European Union outside the established checkpoints. They provided their customers with a detailed plan for moving through natural landscapes and local infrastructure.
The next channel of illegal exit to the EU passed through Moldova. In this case, its organizers used a specially created Telegram channel to search for "clients." In the future, the offenders planned to take draft dodgers abroad in their own car.
