SBU identifies over 4,000 people who occupiers plan to involve in pseudo-referendums
KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The SBU has identified more than 4,000 people who the aggressor plans to involve in pseudo-referendums in the occupied regions of Ukraine.
"As a result of multi-stage operational actions, the Security Service, together with the Prosecutor General’s Office, identified the main organizers and participants in the preparation of fake referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," the Security Service of Ukraine said on Telegram.
"Currently, more than 4,000 representatives of enemy groups, traitors and collaborators have been identified, who are planned to be involved in organizing illegal plebiscites in the territory of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions," the SBU reports.
Among these persons are "Russian security officials, their henchmen from the local ‘Interior Ministries’ formed by the occupiers and the heads of the so-called ‘territorial election commissions.’"
According to the intercepted documents of the aggressor country, it is the units of the National Guard and the military police from Russia that should ensure "protection" of pseudo-votes. Collaborators in the occupation administrations and private security structures controlled by the special services of the Russian Federation were sent to "help" them, the SBU notes.
In addition, the Security Service collected the constituent data of all the organizers of illegal activities, established their places of residence and movement routes, and also documented the criminal acts.
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the SBU investigators under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 (collaboration activity), Part 2 of Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
