SBI notifies former MFA State Secretary of suspicion of official negligence
KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine (SBI) has notified of suspicion former State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, who leased the ministry-owned premises for free.
"The SBI has notified of suspicion the former State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, whose official negligence caused losses to the national budget in the amount of UAH 3.2 million," the SBI said on the Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to it, in 2017, the former State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry concluded an agreement with an entrepreneur on catering services for the employees of the ministry.
"At the same time, without concluding a rental agreement, he allowed the entrepreneur to use for free government-owned premises with a total area of 527 square meters for business activities. Such a ‘service’ cost the national budget UAH 3.2 million," the SBI said.
The ex-official was notified of suspicion of under the article on official negligence, which entailed grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
