Save Ukrainian Culture foundation starts accepting donations in cryptocurrency to protect world cultural heritage monuments

KYIV. April 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for the Arts and Art Education, together with the blockchain company Everstake, have announced the joint charity initiative Save Ukrainian Culture, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the preservation of the cultural heritage of Ukraine in the conditions of Russian invasion.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has already recorded more than 200 objects of destruction of cultural heritage, but these figures are not final, head of the department Oleksandr Tkachenko said.

"Rashists continue their war crimes against the Ukrainian heritage, trying to erase our history and identity. Destroying Ukrainian culture is one of their strategic goals in this war. Therefore, we must act immediately to restore everything that has suffered from the war. And the goal of the Save Ukrainian Culture initiative is to speed up this process," the minister said.

According to a press release, Save Ukrainian Culture accepts donations, including in cryptocurrencies. Those who wish to support this initiative can use BTC, ETH and USDT (both ERC-20 and TRC-20), as well as fiat, such as euro, US dollar or hryvnia sent from credit cards, bank transfer or via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The funds will be used to help endangered cultural sites, as well as to restore destroyed sites. This process will take place under the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

"Cryptocurrencies are a proven and effective funding tool that will save our cultural heritage from being plundered and destroyed in this senseless war," Serhiy Vasylchuk, the CEO of Everstake, said.

He recalled that the global crypto community has already provided Ukraine with strong support by transferring more than $100 million worth of cryptocurrencies for various public and private initiatives.

Everstake is the largest decentralized staking provider with 625,000 users. Everstake employs more than 100 experts from all over the world and has been actively involved in the development of complex blockchain products such as Metaplex, Portal and Everland. The company is one of the initiators of the charitable organization Aid for Ukraine, which collects cryptocurrency donations for the military and humanitarian needs of Ukraine. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, since its launch, more than $60 million has already been raised.
