Sappers from AFU start training in Lithuania
KYIV. March 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Sappers from the Ukrainian army have begun training in Lithuania as part of the Nordic-Lithuanian EOC Training Initiative (NLETI), Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said.
“Sappers from the Ukrainian army start their training courses in Lithuania. NLETI initiative will help with de-mining Ukraine. We need to protect our people from the dangerous & horrible consequences of war. Thank you to my friend Arvydas Anušauskas for the strengthening & leadership!” he said on Twitter.
The website of the Lithuanian Armed Forces reports that a month-long course for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has started in Lithuania. It is organized by Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania to train the Ukrainian military to conduct mine clearance. The first exercises are conducted by instructors of the armies of Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Lithuania. Four courses are planned.
